Republican Martha Rainville and Democrat Peter Welch are neck-and-neck in the race for Vermont’s lone congressional seat, and Republican Rich Tarrant has made up ground on independent Bernie Sanders in the U.S. Senate race, according to a new poll.

The poll, conducted by American Research Group of Manchester, N.H., also found Democrat Scudder Parker gaining on incumbent Republican Gov. Jim Douglas. The poll results were based on interviews with 600 likely voters July 26-27.

In the U.S. House of Representatives race, 42 percent would favor Rainville and 41 percent Welch if the election were today. In the Senate race, 56 percent said they would vote for Sanders and 35 percent would pick Tarrant. For governor, Douglas had 47 percent and Parker 36 percent. The poll had an error margin of four percentage points.
